Abstract

Purpose: to evaluate Children’s eye health by telephonic questionnaire during COVID lockdown. Methods: we prepared 20 questions, to evaluate how the children are feeling about their eye condition during COVID lockdown, online classes and long summer vacation. Result: a total 27 parents replied the full questionnaire were included. 40% children had itching, 26% had headache, and 14% had difficulty in seeing. 65% kids play mobile games more than an hour per day, while 20% play for less time. 58% kids do outdoor sports for more than an hour. Around 25% kids were using some eye drops, 2 kids were using steroid drop. So we stopped them over telephone. Conclusion: Children’s eyes are precious to the physician and also to the society. We can help them to be better by telecommunications, and assure the parents to wait until the lockdown is lifted. Till then avoid mobile games and encourage them for more outdoor activities. Also to avoid steroid eye drops for allergic eye problems
