Abstract
INTRODUCTION –KD is a medium vessel vasculitis of prepubertal children.ocular involvement is dominated by bulbar conjuctival injection,B/L iridocyclitis ,vitreous opacities,papilledema,SCH.CASE SUMMARY-7 year old boy presented to OPD in a RIO with red eyes and fever.visual acuity,slit lamp examination,fundoscopy,NCT done. CC ,KP’s ,cells and flare in the aqueous in BE and SCH in LE.other causes of uveitis ruled out.fissured lips,red tongue and swollen hands were seen.He was a known case of Kawasaki disease and was under treatment.correlating history,C/F and investigations its association with KD was confirmed.Topical atropine and dexamethasone given.On follow up after 2 months redness subsided and eyes became normal. CONCLUSION-KD commonly manifests as redness and photophobia and has a good prognosis. Ophthalmologists,rheumatologists and paediatricians should be aware of this presentations as delayed diagnosis can affect the visual outcomes and can cause adverse CVS outcomes.
