Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy of Eyhance intraocular lens implantation in providing intermediate visual acuity and avoiding dysphotopsia.
Methods: The 29 patients who underwent Eyhance intraocular lens implantation (Johnson and Johnson Vision) after uneventful phacoemulsification were evaluated at five weeks post operatively. Patients with preoperative corneal astigmatism less than 1.0 D were implanted.
Results: Age range was 26 – 80 years, 24 were males and 7 females. Uncorrected distance visual acuity was 6/9 or better in 93% of patients. 62% patients had uncorrected N6 intermediate vision at 60 cms. 38% had N8 to N10 intermediate vision. 41% patients could read N6 without correction. There were no complaints of disturbing glare or haloes at night on enquiry.
Conclusions: Implantation of Eyhance intraocular lenses provides excellent uncorrected distance vision, good intermediate vision and reasonable near vision. The patients do not have disturbing glare and haloes at night.
