Abstract
Dacryops is a benign cystic lesion of the lacrimal gland or ducts. The diagnosis is primarily a clinical one. Imaging helps in confirming the extent of involvement and differentiates dacryops from epidermoid and dermoid which are its common differential diagnosis. The present case was of a unilateral cystic lesion in the sepero- medial fornix. Radiological diagnosis was dermoid or lacrimal cyst.Excision biopsy of the intact cyst was done. It was confirmed to be a lacrimal cyst on histopathological examination. The location of the lesion made it an accessory lacrimal gland or duct cyst. For the surgical management, recommended approach has been a meticulous and complete removal of the intact cyst through the conjunctival cul-de-sac route. Many other treatment modalities like marsupialization and thermal LASERs have also been proposed. Dacryops of the accessory lacrimal glands is an uncommon lesion and should be kept in the differential diagnosis of cystic lesions of the orbit.
