Abstract
A 13-year-old female presented with sudden onset diminution of left eye which was associated with muco-purulent conjunctivitis for both eyes and lid swelling. EUA of left eye showed peripheral ulcerative keratitis with necrotizing scleritis. Other eye was normal . Next day she had punched out skin lesions over fingers of hand and foot, oral ulcer and genital lesions. Corneal scrapping and blood culture shows no microbiological growth and all systemic investigations were normal. Immunologist gave the diagnosis of Behcet’s disease and the patient was started on T.Azathioprine 25 mg with Prednisolone 10 mg OD. Significant improvement was noticed after starting immunosuppressant drugs for one week. Eye lesions also improved on adding topical steroids and topical antibiotics. This case is reported for the rarity of the diagnosis of Behcet’s disease in young age with ocular involvement in the form of muco-purulent conjunctivitis, peripheral ulcerative keratitis and necrotising scleritis.
