Abstract
Purpose:To compare IOP in primigravidae with multigravidae.Materials and methods:The study was done from June2019 to March2020 in healthy pregnant females of age group 20-35 years .It included 32 primigravidae and 48 multigravidae alongwith 20 nulligravida controls.Multigravidae were divided into 3 subgroups.Detailed history, systemic and ophthalmologic examination was done.IOP measured once in each trimester of pregnancy with Goldmann Applanation Tonometer. Results:IOPs in second and third trimesters of nulligravida control group was significantly higher(p<0.001)than pregnant group. In subgroups of multigravidae IOPs in second and third trimester was significantly lower(p<0.05) than primigravidae.Differences among multigravidae subgroups were statistically insignificant. Conclusion:Healthy multigravidae have lower IOP compared to healthy primigravidae in second and third trimesters of pregnancy. Thus physiological changes should be considered during antenatal investigations
