Abstract
Purpose:To Compare Visual,Refractive,Keratometric And Topographic Outcomes Of Accelerated Corneal CollagenCross-Linking(AX-CXL) For Progressive Keratoconus Following Epithelial Removal By Transepithelial Phototherapeutic Keratectomy(PTK) Or Manual Debridement
Methods:71Eyes underwent AX-CXL Following Manual Epithelial Debridement(N = 30) Or Ablation Via PTK(N = 41).Retrospective analysis was done Preoperatively And At 1, 6, And 12 Months Postoperatively For Uncorrected Distance Visual Acuity, Corrected Distance Visual Acuity, Maximum Corneal Keratometry, Pachymetry,Cylinder And Spherical Equivalent. The Differences Between Quantitative Variables Were Analyzed Using Repeated Measures ANOVA And Mixed ANOVA
Results:Difference For All Variables in Manual Epithelial Debridement And Ablation Via PTK Was present but Not Statistically Significant At all time intervals
Conclusions: Both Manual Epithelial Debridement And Ablation Via PTK produce Equivalent Outcomes Up To 12 Months postop
