Abstract

The ultimate goal of any cataract surgery is to provide a patient with best visual outcome. But despite all precautions, infections do occur sometimes. The ongoing COVID pandemic has made us stop and think. We need to incorporate changes in our Operating room and make it safe not only for our patients but also for us. The preventive measures should start as soon as a patient is seen . Adherence to a standardized protocol by all is necessary to bring down the rate of endophthalmitis. The course intends to bring the light upon not only instruments sterilization but also focuses on setting up an OT by a novice using limited resources. This course will also help in establishing guidelines for OT environment preparation and etiquettes which can be easily followed by all irrespective of the size of their practice.
