Abstract
Method: Case report
Case Description: A 33 yr old asymptomatic female was referred for retina evaluation. Best Corrected Visual acuity was 6/6 Both Eyes (BE). Anterior segment was normal. Fundus showed multiple large (>125 µm) and medium sized macular drusens, distributed both nasal and temporal to fovea. Neovascularization, macular atrophy or vitelliform lesion were absent. OCT BE – multiple dome-shaped RPE detachments corresponding to the drusen. Fundus autofluorescence showed hyper-autoflourescence corresponding to drusen location. Patient was counselled, given Amsler chart for home monitoring, and adviced yearly follow up. On 1st follow-up, patient had no visual complain and showed no ocular changes.
Conclusion: LCD has good prognosis, but needs proper patient counselling to alleviate fears of blindness and regular home monitoring with frequent follow ups
