Abstract
19 year old female with Acute promyelocytic leukemia on induction phase responded well with Retinoids presented with dimunition of vision, painful in nature in right eye.On examination visual acuity (RE) was 6/36 which worsened to CF2M,anterior segment was normal. Posterior segment showed subretinal fluffy creamy white to yellowish infiltrates nasally. Underwent diagnostic vitreous biopsy and treatment with systemic and intravitreal antifungals and KOH mount showed septate fungal hyphae . Diagnosed as U/L endogenous fungal endophthalmitis with no other systemic complications although she was neutropenic due to PML RARa translocation effect on promyelotic cells. Developed RD, poor visual prognosis explained due to extensive exudation..CONCLUSION :Despite early diagnosis and prompt treatment ,aspergillus endogenous endophthalmitis has poor prognosis .
