Abstract
Methods: In this retrospective study, AS-OCT(RTVue; Optovue, Inc., Fremont, CA) defined criteria for KC screening that is SN- IT, S-I, minimum and minimum- maximum values, were compared with topography(Pentacam, Oculus). Two or more abnormal parameters on Pentacam were considered to be suspicious of KC
Results: Study of 360 eyes (180 patients) undergoing SMILE. 264 eyes(73.33%) showed good agreement between the two modalities. 24 eyes(6.66%) showed good correlation in detecting KC suspect. In 27 eyes(7.4%), however AS-OCT was suggestive of suspicious KC although the topography was normal
Conclusion: AS-OCT may be an important adjunct tool for screening KC in patients undergoing SMILE and refractive surgeons should exercise caution in their decision making when AS-OCT is suggestive of KC
