Abstract
A 9-year-old boy presented with pigmented mass in the right eye noted since 1 month which progressed to involve entire eyeball causing low vision, pain and bloody discharge. Parents also reported of multiple pigmented lesions over the face, neck, shoulders and upper chest noticed since late infancy associated with photophobia and photosensitivity. Face, neck and upper thorax showed hyperpigmented macules and papules with corrugated surface interspersed with small round hypopigmented and depigmented macules. VA of OD was perception of light (PL) and OS was 6/6. Examination revealed a large dark brownish mass with bumpy surface involving whole palpebral aperture with incomplete closure of lids. MRI showed an epibulbar mass without intraocular extension. He underwent wide local excision of the mass with cryotherapy of the margins and scleral beds with AMG under GA. HPE was suggestive of malignant melanoma. At 5 months postoperative vision was recovered from PL to 6/9 without recurrence.
