Abstract
A 27-year-old male with BE compound myopic astigmatism (RE -3.75 Dsph/-0.50 Dcyl @ 180 axis, LE -4.25 Dsph/-0.75 Dcyl @ 180 axis) underwent an uneventful PRK. The first-day postoperative BCVA was 6/9(BE) and given a tapering dosage of steroid-antibiotic combination. In the first postoperative month, BE had an early corneal stromal haze with UCVA of 6/6. He was prescribed lubricants and advised one-month review. Patient came six months later with defective vision in LE for ten days. On examination, BE had UCVA of 6/6 and LE showed a central corneal stromal haze. He was prescribed 0.1% Cyclosporine eyedrops 2 t/d with lubricants for LE. One month later, the vision was 6/6 in RE,6/9 with PH 6/6 in LE. Haze resolved with minimally raised scar(keloid) in LE. In the subsequent visits, vision improved to 6/6P with PH 6/6 in LE. This case managed medically though there are surgical modalities of treating post-PRK haze/scarring considering the vision improvement and patient’s satisfaction.
