Abstract
PURPOSE
To study changes in macular micro-vasculature over 3 months after DEX implant using OCT-A in patients with retinal vein occlusion.
METHODS
30 eyes with from retinal vein occlusion underwent OCTA after DEX implant. The images were observed for anatomical changes in the vessel structure, Foveal avascular zone (FAZ) and Vessel Density Index(VDI) were quantified for statistical changes. These changes were co-related with visual outcome over three months.
RESULTS
OCTA showed changes in vascular tortuosity in the deep capillary plexus and hyper reflective spots suggestive of aneurysmal dilatation in microvasculature. Parameters: FAZ and VDI did not show significant changes corresponding to the observable changes noted in our study.Anatomical microvascular changes was corelated with VA.
CONCLUSION
Increase in tortuosity in microvasculature and hyper reflective spots in deeper capillary layer in OCT-A can predict the visual recovery in patients post Dexamethasone implant.
