Abstract
Introduction:Intracranial tuberculoma is a rare manifestation of TB.We report such a case of a young woman presenting with profound vision loss.
Case Report:A 27 yr old female presented with progressive painless vision loss in BE and headache since 3 months.O/E BCVA was PL- in BE.Pupils were mid dilated and sluggish.Fundus showed B/L gross disc edema,macular star and edema with subretinal exudates and overlying thin atrophic retina.MRI Brain showed multiple conglomerate ring enhancing lesions in right temporo-parieto-occipital lobes with severe perilesional edema causing mass effect with midline shift and features of papilledema s/o tuberculoma.She had no symptoms s/o TB.Neurological referral revealed intracranial tuberculoma and was treated with ATT and steroids.
Conclusion:Progressive vision loss and papilledema secondary to intracranial tuberculoma is a rare clinical scenario. Prompt diagnosis,early referral and appropriate management is mandatory to prevent permanent visual loss.
