Abstract
Aim: To study ocular findings and its complications in patients suffering from AD
Method : 70 patients diagnosed with AD underwent complete ocular examination including examination of lid & adnexa, anterior segment and fundus examination.
Result: 41 M & 29 F with mean age of 13±8.11 years were included in the study. Mean duration of AD was 6±3.5 months. Ocular involvement included dermatitis of eyelids in 25(35.8%)patients, blepharoconjunctivitis in 20 (28.8%) patients and Atopic keratoconjunctivitis in 23( 33.1%) patients. One patient had a posterior subcapsular cataract due to use of steroids. No fundus abnormalities were found in any cases.
Conclusion: Ocular morbidities are very common in patients with AD & requires regular follow-up with an ophthalmologist.
