Abstract

The technological advances happened in recent years,has led to changes in the quality and quantity of microsurgeries performed across ophthalmic surgical specialties.We would highlight the potential limitations of conventional microsurgery and elaborate on the benefits of (3D) display systems in the field of various anterior and posterior segment surgery.In addition to superior ergonomics, they provide great resolution, image depth, clarity and magnification.The use of less light address the potentially deleterious effect of phototoxicity seen with conventional microscopes. 3D systems allow every element of the surgical team, and a larger audiences,to appreciate the surgeon’s view with great depth perception and clarity;they allow high-quality recordings of surgery for analysis and discussion. The course would demonstrate the tips & tricks of performing various ocular surgeries,the role of 3D system in improving surgeon comfort and better visualization
