Abstract
A 34 year old female presented with growth over lateral aspect of right lower lid since 6 months. O/E:4×4 mm raised growth in lateral aspect of right lower lid involving the tarso conjunctival layer. No ulceration, no loss of lashes, no involvement of lid margin and skin. EOM full, VA 6/6.MRI orbit showed focal STIR hyper intensity in right lateral aspect of lower eyelid in inner aspect. HPE from incisional biopsy confirmed it as moderately differentiated sebaceous cell carcinoma. Patient underwent wide excision of tumour & lid reconstruction with Tenzel flap. Specimen sent for HPE which confirmed the diagnosis and revealed tumour free margins on all sides. Patient was on lubricants and antibiotics post operatively. Patient was on regular follow up & wound healed with minimal scarring. This report highlights the importance of rarity of sebaceous cell carcinoma in a relatively younger age with no predisposing factors and importance of biopsy in any chronic mass lesions of lids.
