Abstract
Aim: To assess the accuracy of Holladay1, Hoffer Q, SRK/T, Haigis , Barrett universal II, Hill-RBF 2.0 in prediction of the post operative refractive outcome. Methods: A total of 1648 eyes were assessed. Preoperative Biometry by Lenstar LS 900 optical biometer (Haag streit) 2009. Ideal iol power was calculated as Implanted iol + 1.5*post op spherical equivalent. IOL power prediction with 6 formulae were compared with ideal IOL power to calculate the accuracy of IOL power calculation. Results: Mean absolute error(MAE) was lowest in Barrett Universal II(0.446) & highest in Hoffer Q (0.666 ) across all axial lengths. For normal eyes (AL 22-25mm), short eyes (AL<22mm) and long eyes (AL>25mm), mean absolute error was lowest in Barrett universal 2: (0.44), (0.53) and (0.40) respectively. For short eyes, mean absolute error was highest in Hoffer Q (0.95). Conclusion: Barrett universal II formula is the most accurate formula across all axial length. Haigis performs well in short eyes
