Abstract

Method : A 40 year old male patient came to OPD with painless swelling in right eye gradually increasing in size since 3 months. Patient had no history of ocular trauma, surgery or any topical drugs. Visual acuity was 6/9 in both eyes with IOP within normal limits. Slit lamp examination revealed a bluish cystic lesion over medial aspect of bulbar conjunctiva in right eye, left eye was normal. Both eye fundus were normal. Investigation done and patient diagnosed as having conjunctival lymphangiectasia in right eye. Patient explained about the disease and action of bleomycin. After consent intralesional bleomycin mixed with lidocaine was injected in the right eye. Topical antibiotics prescribed and patient reviewed after 15 days, 1 month, 3 months.

Result : After 3 months swelling subsided and conjunctiva was absolutely normal.

Conclusion : Intralesional Bleomycin can be tried as a sclerosing agent in conjunctival lympangiectasia like it is used in lymphangioms.
