Abstract

Rodent ulcer or Basal cell carcinoma is relatively common in the periocular region in Indian subcontinent.

Presenting and interesting case of a 28 years old security guard, who presented with a lower lid mass incited by an insect bite. Treated with multiple modalities before being diagnosed as Basal cell carcinoma and treated accordingly.

The mass was excised with clear tumour free margin and the lower lid reconstructed with Modified Cutler Beard procedure.

High index of suspicion in any periocular mass is warranted to avoid detrimental consequences in such lesions
