Abstract
Case 1: 13-year-old female, RE DOV; Status post Cat’s paw injury 15 days ago with burnt out endophthalmitis. B Scan suggestive of Prephthisical eye. During 1st surgery after lensectomy and evaluation of retina the case was abandoned in view of anticipated poor surgical and visual outcome but on Post-Operative Day 6 the resurgery was planned.
Case 2: 28-year-old male patient Status post BE tyre blast trauma 2 months ago, presented with DOV in LE. On Examination RE traumatic mydriasis with PSC and Post Berlin’s edema sequalae; LE Prephthisical eye with ?organized Vitreous hemorrhage and ?Close funnel RD.
Initial looks can be deceptively gloomy. In young patients of complicated RD and prephthisis with perception of light, it is worth going all out and giving your all. In many such cases results can be heartening.
