Abstract

This collection of surgical videos deals with the delicate procedure of efficient membrane peeling that is essential in order to ensure a successful surgical and visual outcome in bad cases of proliferative diabetic retinopathy with tractional retinal detachment. In the era of chandelier assisted bimanual surgery this video shows that effective membrane peeling is possible with unimanual manipulations of multiple instruments in a multi-faceted way. Small gauge vitrectomy is thus capable enough of tackling tough membranes and can pave the way for successful outcomes of such endeavours.
