Abstract
As a part of our medical curriculum, we are taught to become great clinicians. After which the journey to becoming a private practitioner is almost imperative to most of the graduates. The challenges of this journey do not end with the establishment but rise much after it. The process of expansion, rising demands of standards of patient care and the growing mandate for accreditation from agencies to be able to flourish cannot be dismissed. In this digital age, when healthcare has been accepted as a service, merely being a good clinician is not sufficient. But also building a team and ,medico-legal precautions, digital outreach to increase footfalls and ways to increase patient satisfaction in addition to good OPDpatient handling skills can take a small business rise to great heights. As a group that has seen these difficulties and has managed to rise from the ashes to multiple centers across India, we want to share our experiences on the issues that matter in the business of medicine.
